Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2014
Hockey promotions were in full swing in the 1930s, like this gem from the 1933-34 season, a rare hockey board game from O-Pee-Chee offered through hockey card wrapper redemption. Measuring 21 1/2" x 4 3/4", this cardboard game, where one moves his piece after spinning the dial (1-shoots and scores; 23-passes – move 4 spaces etc), is in super condition with one crease in the middle, a couple of small markings on the scoring legend, and a handwritten "1936" on the back, just below the full and unmarked checklist of all players from the '33-34 Series "A" and "B" hockey cards. Even the small "puck", which was to be pressed out to use on the board, remains intact. Just a delightful card-related offering from the iconic O-Pee-Chee company, from the days when Morenz, Clancy, and Shore roamed the ice.
