Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2014
One of the keys to the O-Pee-Chee company’s Series “A” set of 1933-34 is the rookie card of hockey immortal Eddie Shore, still(!) the only defenceman in hockey history to have been voted the NHL’s most valuable player and Hart Trophy recipient on four separate occasions! A rugged type, a great leader and always a big threat on the attack is how the great Shore is described on the back of card #3, with this example having been slabbed as a beautiful NM 7 by PSA, one of three graded as such by the company, with just 1 graded higher at 8 from a field of 55. A gem of a card from the legendary figure who was inducted into the HOF in 1947.
