Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2014
The first card of the very first Montreal Canadien - wow! That's right, Didier Pitre was the first player signed by Jack Laviolette after the latter was given the job of picking/assembling "les Canadiens" in 1909. That original Canadiens sweater, the look on Pitre's face and that deep rich red background make for wonderful eye candy. A total of 74 examples of card #23 have been submitted to PSA, with this lovely EX-MT+ 6.5 specimen edged out by just three on the company's telltale Population Report. Marvelous opportunity to score the rookie card of an early superstar who is said to have had the hardest shot in hockey, packing his 200-pound frame behind each blast. Thirteen years a legendary member of the Canadiens and ready to contribute heavily to your GPA weight!
