Assembled over the years by a die-hard Toronto Maple Leafs fan, this stash dates back to the 1950s and a handful of Parkhurst cards (11), highlighted by a ’52-53 Ron Stewart RC (G-VG) and ’55-56 Quaker Oats versions of #11-Jim Thompson (VG+) and 14-Hugh Bolton (VG). Five from ’60-61, including Bower, Olmstead and Kelly, lead the 1960s’ Parkie chronological parade, with nine from ’62-63 featuring nice crease-free VG-EX or EX examples of 7-Horton, 13-Armstrong, 14-Shack, 14-Keon and 18-Mahovlich. The popular ’63-64 Parkhurst issue is well represented with 21 cards, (Bower, Keon, Mahov., etc.), which average VG. A baker’s dozen of ’65-66 Topps cards includes Sawchuk and Keon and then it’s mostly O-Pee-Chee cards spanning ’69-70 to the late-‘80s. A few Jacques Plante and Darryl Sittler cards are to note, along with rookie cards of Lanny McDonald and Borje Salming, with however some handling and wear throughout and nothing noteworthy appearing in tiptop shape, but still, for the most part, in VG to EX collectible condition. A dozen pages at the back of the binder include Upper Deck, OPC, Score and Pro Set issues from the beginning of the 1990s’ card boom. A grab bag of 57 ever-popular Shirriff coins are in various conditions and includes some duplication, with a half dozen from ’60-61 (Mahovlich, Armstrong, Kelly), 17 from ’61-62, (11 different with Bower, Mahov., 2 Keon) and 32 metal jobs from ’62-63. A dandy bonus is a big pair, (size 11) of vintage “Maple Leaf” skates, with “NHL Rules committee Officially approved” inscribed on the metal plates attached to the skate boots. Go Leafs!
