Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2014
Montreal’s Maple Crispette Company offered a free pair of skates for anyone sending in a complete 30-card set of hockey players during the winter of 1924-25, with Charlie “Dinny” Dinsmore of the Maroons appearing here on card #17. The Toronto-born Dinsmore was a rookie that ’24-25 season and a year later, playing on a line with Sam Rothschild and Bart Phillips, helped the Maroons to their first Stanley Cup championship. With less-than-perfect centering and corner/edge wear, as well as the free skates offer on the back, this desirable pre-war card has been encapsulated and deemed VG/EX 4 by SGC.
