This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2014
From the Kelly Russell Studios in 1993 we present a sensational collection of 52 hockey and baseball colored and numbered lithographs, with an astounding 39 of these signed by the players. These 7" x 8 1/2" illustrations are wonderfully set into 11" x 14" mattes, and among the many hockey stars who have signed their images are Patrick Roy, Mario Lemieux, Teemu Selanne, Ray Bourque, Cam Neely and Bob Probert, along with baseball greats Barry Bonds, Nolan Ryan, and Larry Walker in two separate Expos images. All signatures are wonderfully signed, mostly in blue marker with some in black marker, and the displays also feature small player descriptions and photos. Others who have signed their lithos include Pat LaFontaine, Chris Chelios, Theoren Fleury, Felix Potvin, Alexander Mogilny, Mike Modano, Craig MacTavish, Doug Gilmour, Wendel Clark, Luc Robitaille, Eric Lindros, Pavel Bure, Trevor Linden, Adam Oates, Vincent Damphousse, Pierre Turgeon, Mark Recchi, Al MacInnis, Grant Fuhr, Tony Amonte, Kirk Muller, John Vanbiesbrouck, Jeremy Roenick, Mark Tinordi, Joe Juneau, and baseball’s Jeff Bagwell, Matt Williams, Delino DeShields, and Moises Alou. To note is one of the Larry Walker signed images showing that Walker attempted to sign first in gold ink but repeated above in clear blue marker. Nolan Ryan’s signed lithograph comes with a COA from the Nolan Ryan Foundation. Those that are unsigned include Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Honus Wagner, Marquis Grissom, Brooks Robinson, Satchel Paige, Boog Powell, Shoeless Joe Jackson (2 different), Stan Musial, Roberto Alomar, David Justice, and Ken Griffey with a commemotive postal envelope for Jackie Robinson jersey retirement night at Shea Stadium.
