Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2014
A big night for a couple of NHL franchises when the teams suited up for the first time, and we’ve got some artifacts commemorating the events. You needed a ticket of course to get through the doors for the Florida Panthers’ inaugural game held on Oct. 12, 1993 and included here is one from that night, nicely displayed under clear plastic, with a plaque below reading “1993-94 Florida Panthers Inaugural Season Opening Day Ticket 10/12/93”. We also have a limited edition 272/2500 Panthers ticket from that same night, encased in Lucite to make for a sensational conversation piece. Joining these is a 4 ½” x 10” commemorative Might Ducks inaugural game ticket from Oct. 8, 1993 when the Ducks laced ‘em up to face the Detroit Red Wings at the Pond. This commemorative ticket, along with its original envelope, is displayed in clear plastic with a chip out of one corner of the plastic. We also have a full ticket from the 1972 Stanley Cup playoffs from the Arena in St. Louis, which is from game six never played because the Blues only played five home games in the playoffs that year. Rounding things out is a full ticket from Jan. 13, 1985 when the youthful Edmonton Oilers visited the Aud in Buffalo to take on the Sabres. (Oilers won 5-4).
