The juggernaut called the late-1970s Montreal Canadiens, a team that collected 4 straight Stanley Cups from 1976 to 1979, are examined here through 6 programs, including 2 from the 1976 finals (1 from Montreal, 1 from Philly), 2 from the 1977 finals (1 from Boston, 1 from Montreal), and 1 each from the finals in 1978 (Boston at Montreal), and 1979 (Montreal at New York). Both 1976 programs measure 8 ½” x 11”, with the 64-page Forum issue (from either May 9 - Habs 4, Flyers 3, or May 11, Habs 2, Flyers 1) complete and unmarked and retained in great condition. From the May 13th game in Philly (game 3, Habs 3, Flyers 2), the program is 86 pages, also complete, unmarked, intact, and in terrific condition with just a touch of cover edge wear. From the 1977 Cup final (which the Canadiens won by sweeping the Bruins), we have a Forum program from what we think is from the opening game, May 7, when the Habs won 7-3. This 62-page program is unmarked, complete, and in wonderful shape, as is the May 12th Boston program when the Habs won 4-2, with only some cover creases to note. The May 23, 1978 Montreal program, game 5 (Habs would win in 6 games), when the Canadiens beat Boston 4-1, is a 76-pager, complete, intact, and unmarked, and in nice condition with just a touch of edge wear. The 1979 Cup final saw the Habs play the NY Rangers and this Rangers program, although undated, would be offered at all Ranger games in the series which included both May 17 and 19 of 1979, games which saw Montreal win both by scores of 4-1 and 4-3. Canadiens would win the series and the Cup in 5 games. This 58-page program is in almost perfect condition and is intact and unmarked.
