Nothing like old time hockey! Fantastic grouping of five antique hockey sticks dating back to the 1910s and '20s includes a trio of early goalie sticks! The goalie sticks are of varying lengths, from a full-sized 60" stick with a CCM paper label to another that is about 55" with a short one that is 48" overall. All three feature paddles that are composed of two pieces of wood nailed onto the top and bottom edge of the shaft. Two vintage hockey sticks round out this impressive grouping including one with a mostly-present C.A. Lund paper label around the shaft. Vintage tape jobs remains on all the sticks which have loads of use and make for an impressive display from the early days of the great outdoor game! A full-size goalie stick that measures about 60” from the top of the shaft to the tip of the blade has most of its original CCM paper label intact just below the black tape wrap knob near the top of the butt end of the shaft. “McCarthy” and “Boston, Mass.” can be made out on four faded stamps that appear low on each side of both the handle and the paddle, which is made up of wood pieces nailed to both the top and bottom portion of the lower part of the shaft.
A 55” long goalie stick has stamps on the shaft, paddle and blade that can be partially made out with some text on the blade which seems to be Montreal, Canada.
A shorter goalie stick measures 48” from the top of the shaft to the tip of the blade. “Montan Process” is spelled out in wood-burned lettering on the front of the shaft which runs the length of the stick with wood portions attached by nails on the bottom and top to form the wider paddle at the bottom.
