Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014

Historic NHL All-Star Game jersey was worn by Mario Lemieux in the 2001 game at the Pepsi Center in Denver. A little more than a month after he made his stunning comeback from retirement midway through the 2000-01 season, Mario became the third inducted member of the Hockey Hall of Fame to take part in an All-Star Game, joining Gordie Howe (1980 in Detroit) and Guy Lafleur (1991 in Chicago) in that select group. Authentication number sewn on the fight strap of this navy blue North American All-Stars captain's jersey reveals that Lemieux, who scored in the second, was wearing this jersey when he picked up his second point of the game with an assist on Simon Gagne's first of two goals 5:16 into the third period of the North Americans' 14-12 win over the World squad. A truly tempting offering that will interest a wide variety of collectors, particularly Lemieux/Hall of Fame/All-Star Game enthusiasts. With LOA. Lemieux's red-white-and-silver twill captain's "C" is sewn on the left breast and an Avalanche All-Star Game patch is sewn on the right breast. Penguins crest is sewn on the right shoulder with a Canadian flag patch on the left shoulder. Size 58 and "Made in Canada" tags remain in the neck and the fight strap is intact, complete with the previously mentioned authentication number tag.
