A four-time Stanley Cup champion with Montreal, Phil Goyette led the 1966-67 New York Rangers in scoring with 61 points in 70 games. He scored 12 goals and his 49 assists were second in the NHL only to league leader Stan Mikita’s 62 helpers in the final Original Six season before expansion. Goyette and fellow members of the 1966-67 Rangers have signed in black marker along the shaft of Phil’s CCM Custon Pro game-used stick. “Goyette” is stamped on the shaft and his number “20” is handwritten in black marker below Phil’s black tape job on the knob. Goyette’s black tape job also remains on the blade. There are 18 autographs in all. The late Bernie “Boom Boom” Geoffrion and fellow HOFer Jean Ratelle have signed along with Hadfield and Schinkel in the middle of the shaft with Brown and Goyette further down. HOFer Harry Howell’s autograph below Goyette’s is smudged in the last name. HOFer Eddie Giacomin’s name is partially smudged at the top of the shaft and six autographs above Ratelle’s are smudged by water damage, including HOFer Rod Gilbert as well as Marshall, Fleming and Maniago. HOF coach Emile Francis is among four autographs above those, including Ingarfield and Neilson. There is an age crack through the toe of the blade on this otherwise solid gamer with great game use that includes black marks on the heel and shaft, and red paint transfer high on the back of the shaft.
