A member of the New York Rangers first Stanley Cup championship team in 1928, Leo Bourgault is featured in this lot of four items from the late NHL defenseman's family collection. A pair of vintage frames from the Rangers includes a caricature in an 18" x 19 1/2" frame which extols the virtues of the diminutive Bourgault, who was acquired from Toronto during the Blueshirts' inaugural season in January 1927. A 20 1/2" x 22 1/2" black wood frame displays a 19" tall photo of Bourgault in his Rangers uniform applied to a wood backing cut-out mounted on the left side. "New York Rangers World Champions 1928 Leo Bourgault Defence" is written on the lower right side of the display. Both Rangers artworks have some water stains to note. A small piece of glass is missing in the upper right corner of the Bourgault photo frame while the caricature frame has no glass. Also included is an original mid-1930s picture of Bourgault with the Quebec Beavers and a vintage 1935-36 Montreal Canadiens team picture from a magazine displayed in an 11 1/2" x 16 1/2" frame. Comes with an LOA from the Bourgault family.
