It was complete domination by the New York Islanders in the spring of 1981 as they blasted through the playoffs to win their second of four straight Stanley Cups and truly kick into high gear a big-time dynasty. The Long Island squad swept the Leafs, took out the Oilers in 6 games, swept the Rangers, and beat the North Stars in 5 games during their more-than-impressive march to the promised land, and it was blue-collar Butch Goring and not the usual superstars who would collect the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP in that impressive Islanders run, notching 10 goals (2 game winners), plus 10 assists. Offered is Goring's 13" silver-plated mini-Stanley Cup from that '80-'81 post-season, with his and his mate's names engraved, including HOFers Bossy, Potvin, Trottier, Smith, and Gillies. This little beauty shows some tarnishing, has a sprinkling of scratches throughout, with a small dent near the top and another to the left of the engraved names, but all in all has been preserved in fine condition and without question would be a dazzling and important centerpiece to any display. Comes with its original blue bag along with an LOA from Mr. Goring.
