Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2013
It was during Larry "Swoop" Romanchych's final campaign with the Atlanta Flames, 1976-77, which was also his last as an NHLer, that he donned this durene Flames gamer, tagged in the collar as a Rawlings Size 50, and which shows pilling on the inside jersey shoulders, as well as a team repair on the lower front and another team repair below the back number. Marks, particularly on the bottom back and on both sleeves, are noticeable as well. Swoop's gamer also includes a loop style fight strap, and has double tackle twill numbers, a triple tackle twill team's crest, and individually sewn-on tackle twill surname on a nameplate. A classic gamer from a fine player on a team that would eventually move to Cowtown in 1980. Romanchych only wore #9 during the 1976-77 season which was also worn in the same season by Bill Flett, although there is no evidence of a changed nameplate.
