Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2013
It was the Toronto Granites who represented Canada at the 1924 Olympics, with then future Hall-of-Famers Hooley Smith and Harry Watson helping the team become Olympic champions, while this card, picturing the squad, is a champion at PSA. Part of the Dominion Chocolate Company’s big 120-card multi-sport set and one of 32 hockey cards in it, this example of card #13 joins one other similar EX-MT 6 at the head of the “World’s Hockey Champions” slot. Complete with its original coupon, which was designed to be cut off and sent in with others in exchange for prizes, the card is one of 15 Granites cards to have been encapsulated by PSA over the years, with again, none higher than this treasure.
