Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2013
Previously a star with the Michigan Soo Indians and the Montreal Shamrocks, it was Jack Laviolette who was given the task by John Ambrose O’Brien to form the very first edition of the Montreal Canadiens in 1909. Team captain Laviolette starred as a defenceman but later moved up to forward to form a potent line with Newsy Lalonde and Didier Pitre, with the trio helping the Canadiens to their first Stanley Cup championship in 1915-16. The Hall-of-Famer’s card #46 here has garnered EX 5 recognition from PSA, with the Pop-7 edged on the PSA Population Report by only two others; an EX-MT 6 and an EX+ 5.5.
