Toronto Argonauts game-worn suspension helmet is from the personal collection of legendary running back Bill Symons. A member of the Canadian Football Hall of Fame, Bill became the first Argo to rush for 1,000 yards in a season in 1968 when he claimed the CFL’s Most Outstanding Player honors. This vintage Riddell suspension helmet displays Bill’s number “33” on each side formed by strips of tape that were later added. The white shell was painted over a removed number “21” which can be seen in outline. Bill, who wore #33 with Toronto, recalls wearing this helmet while playing for the Argos. Symons wore the #21 he wore prior to his pro career for an All-Star Game played prior to the 1969 CFL season. The bottom part of the ear padding remains on both sides inside the helmet with a remnant of the padding above the right ear hole. The firm canvas straps of the suspension padding remain intact. Comes with Bill Symons’ signed letter of authenticity.
