Daoust 501 game-worn skates were used by Sweden's Mats Naslund at the 1991 world championship tournament in Finland. These size 6 gamers, which were obtained directly from the Little Viking after the gold medal game, are the correct model used by Naslund during that era and they display really nice game wear in the form of scuffs and marks. Please see our website description for more details about this pair of Mats Naslund world championship gold medal game-worn skates which come with a Classic Auctions LOA. Yellow label stickers inside the heel of each boot have “Mats Naslund Skates Worn During 1991 W.H.T. in Finland, Sweden won gold medal” handwritten on them.
A photo of Naslund playing for Sweden during that era shows him wearing this exact model of skates;
Mats’ number “26” is written in black marker on the underside of the front of the Tuuk blade support of each skate.
Naslund, who won a Stanley Cup in Montreal in 1986, won Olympic gold in Lillehammer in 1994 to become one of the inaugural members, along with Swedish teammates Tomas Jonsson and Hakan Loob, of the Triple Gold Club, the elite group of players to have won the Cup as well as world and Olympic gold medals.
