Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/16/2010
Dazzling 8" x 10" glossy photo is autographed by the 17 men who, in the spring of 1940, brought New York its third Stanley Cup championship. After getting past the Bruins in 6 semi-final games, the Rangers beat the Maple Leafs in 6 games, winning 3 of them in overtime including the 3-2 finale on Bryan Hextall's Cup-winning goal. Hextall is one of 7 Hall-of-Famers whose fountain pen signatures grace this terrific keepsake. The others are Lester and Lynn Patrick, team captain Art Coulter, Babe Pratt, Neil Colville, Clint Smith and Frank Boucher, the latter who signed by his photo and also personalized the picture in the upper right corner to "Jerome, With Best Wishes". The supporting cast includes Kerr, Heller, Pike, Watson, Shibicky, Hiller, MacDonald, Mac Colville and Murray Patrick. The majority of the sigs are nice and bold. The photo has been matted and framed to 12" x 16" with an identifying engraved plaque added below. Truly outstanding.
