This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2009
Two team-autographed Canada jerseys from the 2004 World Cup of Hockey - both autographed by Lemieux, Thornton, Lecavalier, Sakic, Brodeur, Iginla, et al - are highlights of this lot of four tournament items. The top of the mustard yellow throwback jersey Canada wore to honor the 1920 Olympic champions for their first game of the tournament - a 2-1 win over the U.S. in Montreal - is covered with black sharpie signatures. The #18 jersey was issued to Kirk Maltby, who did not play any games in the tournament. Maltby has signed the top of the black twill "8" on the back of the jersey. The front of the jersey has a gorgeous red twill and embroidery red maple leaf with "CANADA" embroidered in white thread sewn on top of the black stripe across the chest. "Winnipeg Falcons" patches are sewn on both shoulders and a World Cup of Hockey 2004 patch is sewn on the left breast. A size 56 Nike Team Sports tag is sewn into the back of the neck. A red Canada jersey with a size 52 Team Nike tag in the neck is also covered with signatures. St. Louis, Luongo, Smyth, Gagne, Heatley, Richards, Foote, Hannan, Doan, Draper, Brewer, Redden, Regehr and Theodore are also among those that have signed both jerseys. A red Canada maple leaf is embroidered onto the back of a black size XL Nike jacket with Winnipeg Falcons 1920 embroidered on the left breast and a black nylon size XL Nike jacket has the World Cup logo embroidered onto the left breast.
