Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction - June 2009
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2009
One of the game’s most prolific innovators, Lester "The Silver Fox" Patrick played a significant role in hockey history for nearly half a century. As a player, he was one of the top rushing defencemen of his day and a team leader. Patrick went on to become an inspirational coach and a respected team administrator. Lester has a beautiful flowing signature and this example is a peach. Patrick has signed here across the top of this old 5"x7" photo of himself posed with Jimmy McLarnin circa the late-Thirties. McLarnin was an Irish Canadian professional boxer who became two time welterweight world champion and an International Boxing Hall of Fame inductee. The Patrick sig is very strong and bold. Add this one to your collection of deceased Hall-of-Famer autographs.
The beauty of the rare photos featured in this incredible collection of hockey memorabilia is not solely in the eye of the beholder, rather it’s obvious to one and all.
