The oldest major junior hockey franchise in the world, the Regina Pats have continuously operated from their original location and used the same name since inception in 1917. Hailing from the personal collection of legendary player and coach Red Berenson, we have a Pats wool sweater that originates from the late-1950s/early-1960s, along with Red’s 1957-58 All-Star Game watch. Void of any labeling, the vintage garment sports the familiar “Pats” in script across the chest in thick layered felt, with “20” over verso in matching material. A “CH” logo also graces the left sleeve, with Regina serving as a farm club to the Canadiens throughout the 1940s/1950s. Sporting a ribbed collar with evenly-spaced striping bands over the sleeves, white shoulder and waist bands have also been utilized, with six eyelet configuration on tie-neck construction. A signed LOA from Red Berenson will accompany.
The number “10” was worn by Hood in 1958-59, Ted Sroka in 1959-60 and Dick Wiest in both 1960-61 and 1961-62. The automatic “Precision” watch was made by Gruen, with heavy wear present along with circular scratches covering the dial and dirt within the band. The back has “1957-58 G. Berenson Center Allstars S.J.H.L.” engraved.
