Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/6/2018
A two-time Vezina Trophy finalist, Kirk McLean is best remembered as the Vancouver Canucks premiere backstop during most of the 1990s, appearing in All-Star contests in both 1990 and 1992. Hailing from earlier-on in his career and originating from his personal collection, we have a trophy awarded to McLean for his status as the tournament’s top goaltender while representing the Don Mills Flyers at the 1983 Air Canada Cup; which served as the fifth annual national midget 'AAA' hockey championship. Standing 10 ½” in height and featuring a chased silver bowl mounted atop a tiered 10 ½” x 10 ½” x 5 ½” wooden base, a metal plate has been affixed listing the particulars, with the underside “hollowed-out”. With tarnishing to the mounted bowl, there is also a slight bend along the lip, as well as a few minor marks to the base. A signed LOA from Kirk McLean will accompany.
