The first overall selection at the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, John Tavares made his NHL debut with the New York Islanders in 2009-10, and spent nine seasons with the club which included five All-Star Game appearances as well as serving as a Hart Trophy finalist, in 2015. From his second-last season in The Big Apple, we have a pair of photo-matched gloves worn by the superstar, in 2016-17. CCM Pro models in Isles colours, “91” is embroidered over each wrist guard, with “JT” also embroidered onto each extension - both in stylized script. Each glove exhibits light to moderate wear, with rubbing to the leather visible in spots, with light pilling to each palm. A hologram from the Islanders numbered “01467” has been added to the right glove, with a team LOA with matching number to accompany.
Getty Image #621957456 from Nov 5, 2016, has been matched to the wear pattern on the front of the left glove on the middle finger, while Getty Image #622580728, from Nov 10, has been matched to the wear pattern on the front of the left glove on the outside protection of the index finger, and to some of the black marks on and nearby the CCM lettering on the wrist protector.
