Reminiscent of what players would often receive as gifts for participating in NHL All-Star games in the 1950s and '60s, offered here is this personal hygiene travel kit presented to New York Americans coach, John "Nip" Dwan in the late-1920s/early-1930s. Contained within a brown coloured leather folio that features a chrome closure over the front, gold coloured letters that read "The One and Only John "Nip" Dwan - New York Americans 1929-30 - From Stobie Forlong & Co." are found over the top of the piece on the front. Reaming in overall good condition despite its age but also showing said age via some dried out sections of the leather, wear to the corners and edges, rips/tears/spots of missing material on the interior, staining and some missing stitching on the interior as well, Dwan is pictured in an included newspaper clipping as the manager of a team of pro hockey players taking part in a charity softball game in 1933 that also included prominent other hockey names such as Lionel Conacher (1B) and Roy Worters (2B). Measuring out to 8" x 10" x 2, the kit includes necessities like a nail file, soap/polish containers, three brushes and a toothbrush container.
