Defenseman Jim Dorey never looked back after signing with the New England Whalers for the WHA’s inaugural 1972-73 season. Dorey’s white mesh East All-Stars gamer is from the first WHA All-Star Game when he contributed a goal and an assist in a 6-4 win against the West in Quebec City on January 6, 1973. Gerry Cosby tagging with a size 50 flag tag sits in the back of the red and blue knit collar of this beauty, which has sewn-on twill surname letters, numbers and stars above the heat-screened WHA logo on the front. Game wear includes blue paint transfer on the left rear hem and black marks on the left sleeve and on the back below the No. 10. Comes with an LOA from the Dorey family.
“Dorey” is spelled out in red twill surname letters sewn on the back. Numbers on the back and both sleeves are sewn-on blue twill, and two red stars and one blue star are also sewn-on twill on the front. The WHA crest below it and the stripes and stars on the sleeves and tails are heat-screened in red and blue vinyl.
