Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
Joining once again, in collaboration with the Montreal Canadiens, Classic Auctions is pleased to offer a large collection of artifacts and memorabilia from the storied club’s comprehensive archives. A number of historic specimens direct from the famous team including unique displays that were once marvelously displayed in the hallowed Montreal Forum and later at the Bell Centre are available, with an endless array of legendary and monumental players featured that all proudly once donned the sacred jersey of the mighty Montreal Canadiens.
Just the second NHL player in history to secure 1,000 career points, Jean Beliveau earned a pair of Hart Memorial Trophies as league MVP during his playing days along with 17 Stanley Cup championships as both a player and executive. The talented centerman was also the first to receive the coveted Conn Smythe Trophy, in 1965. Direct from the archives of the Montreal Canadiens and most likely displayed originally at the Montreal Forum and possibly later at the Bell Centre, we have a Hall of Fame honoured member framed photo of Montreal’s favourite son. At 7 ½” x 10” (exposed), the image is a modern print, with big Jean depicted later in his career, in heated play vs New York. A gold-coloured name plaque listing his induction year (1972) has been inserted beneath, double-matted and framed to 16” x 16”, with some light wear to the frame to note. An LOA from Classic Auctions will be included.
