Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
Held on New Year’s Day in front of over 68,000 at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, the 2011 Winter Classic pitted current rivals the Washington Capitals against the hometown Pens, with the Caps too much to handle, with Eric Fehr netting a pair for a 3-1 victory. These gloves were worn in the contest by Jay Beagle, and they were also worn during the Caps’ Turn Back the Clock Night. Reebok Pro models in Caps colours, all identifiers have been embroidered on, with handwritten notations on “Made in Canada” labels within the interior of each. Just light use is visible as one would expect, with a few marks present on each glove along with a separation along a single finger on the right hand glove. There has also been an interior pad that has been removed (torn away) on the right hand glove. An LOA from the Capitals will accompany.
