Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
The year 2006 was Jacques Villeneuve’s last season in Formula One. He participated in only 12 of 18 races as his season ended after a heavy crash at the German Grand Prix. Still, in only a partial season, he managed to finish 15th overall in the World Championships with a best finish of 6th at the Spanish Grand Prix.
Bell Racing Europe painted this HP3 helmet and tagged it HP3 - 2006-03 making it one of the last helmets used by Villeneuve in Formula 1 competition. The full race radio remains intact and the drink tube has been drilled out. The helmet shows moderate wear inside and there are remains of “bugs” all across the front of the helmet. The visor of the helmet is signed by Villeneuve.
This is a wonderful helmet from Canada’s only World Champion and which would be a great addition to any racing collection. Also included is the original Bell carrying bag with “J.V. 06-03” handwritten annotations. This item is from Jacques Villeneuve’s personal collection and will come with his signed LOA.
