This fascinating lot of seven pieces from the Howie Morenz collection features an original 1905 cabinet photograph of infant Howie posed with his sister. Rare family photos of Howie with his wife and children are included along with a 1934 Habs caricature print from Alexandra Studio, a 1924 Canadiens traveling party snapshot, Howie's framed coat of arms and a 1967 Howie Morenz Night program pamphlet from his native Mitchell, Ontario. These seven items come with a pair of LOAs signed by Howie Morenz Jr. Also included here is a vintage and nicely-preserved CCM 1933-34 Canadiens team photo. Morenz and sister vintage photo measures 4” x 2 3/4" displayed on its original 6 3/4" x 5 1/8” matte from the Burgess studio of Mitchell, Ontario. The left and right edges and margins of the vintage photograph have stains that are more prominent on the matte;
Howie and his wife are pictured with their infant son Howie Jr. in a vintage 9 1/4" x 7 1/4" print on firm cardboard stock;
Howie and his wife and three young children are pictured in a trimmed vintage print that light cardboard stock that measures roughly 5” x 7 1/2";
A caricature of the 1933-34 Habs heading to Toronto is depicted in a 5 1/2" x 10” print stamped “Alexandra Studio” on the reverse;
A team photo of the Canadiens dressed in street clothes that was likely taken during a 1924 trip to Western Canada is a vintage original 3 1/2" x 5 1/2" print;
A Howie Morenz Night event program fold-out brochure from Mitchell District High School in 1967 measures 8 3/4” x 4”;
Howie Morenz’s colorful coat of arms is displayed in a 9 3/4" x 7 3/4" frame;
Original CCM Skates 1933-34 Canadiens team photo measures 8 3/4" x 11”.
