Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/6/2018
Seeing post-NHL use, we have Hector “Toe” Blake’s circa 1952-53 Montreal NHL Old-Timers game-worn wool sweater. “Raymond Hardware” tagging in the collar is the same tagging as a 1952-53 Dickie Moore photo-matched sweater we sold. Blake’s familiar No. 6 is sewn on the back in white on black double-felt. "Montreal N.H.L." lettering is on a twill-like material sewn on the front with "Old Timers" spelled out below it in sewn-on individual black felt letters. There are two team repairs on the front and more game wear including a few faint black marks. We should also note that the outline of "Quebec" is visible on the interior of the sweater beneath the "Montreal NHL" crest indicating that the garment was recycled and was used in both Quebec Old Timers and Montreal NHL Old Timers games. An LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany.
