Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021

The first of five tournaments that featured the best international players in the game, the 1976 Canada Cup included games held in five Canadian cities, with six nations competing. Canada would defeat a strong Czechoslovak squad in the best-of-three final. With Canadian participants not receiving any rings, Guy Lafleur had Jostens produce a pair in the 1990s to be gifted to his sons, and we offer an example. Size 11 with an approx weight of 18 grams and featuring a red enamel half maple leaf centered over the tableau, "Coupe Canada Cup" is spelled out in raised gold letters arching above. The left shank displays “19” in raised gold with "Guy" above and “RW” below, while the right shank has “76” in raised gold with “Lafleur” above and “10” below. The inner band is stamped "Jostens 10K”. Exhibiting moderate use, there is wear including minor scratches and small dings over the bands and along edges.
