Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
Each puck originally distributed by Hockey Diversified could be obtained by mail with the buyer’s choice of team and possibly player. A label was affixed to each puck listing the scorer, team and date, along with a code that divulged which team-goal said puck accounted for. This particular puck was used by HOFer Frank Mahovlich to score the Montreal Canadiens 141st goal of the season vs the Bruins, at Boston Garden, on Jan 12th 1974. Assisted by his brother Pete and fellow HOFer Guy Lafleur, it was Mahovlich’s 12th goal of the season, and 514th of his impressive 533 career goals. The third Montreal goal of the contest, The Big M would add a second goal along with a pair of assists for a four-point night, with the Habs crushing the Bruins in Beantown, 7-3.
The Bruins rubberized logo and Goal Puck Program label both remain fairly clean, with just light overall wear to the puck itself.
