Originating from Hockey Diversified’s NHL Goal Puck Program, each puck originally distributed by the company could be obtained by mail with the buyer’s choice of team and possibly player. A label was affixed to each puck listing the scorer, team and date, along with a code that divulged which team-goal said puck accounted for (the label on this puck differs slightly, with this affixed by the NHL time-keeper. The puck’s authenticity has been verified as an example sold late in the program by Hockey Diversified’s owner). This particular puck was used by superstar Hall of Fame member Frank Mahovlich to score the Montreal Canadiens 66th goal of the season vs the Boston Bruins, at Boston Garden, on November 12, 1972. Assisted by Jim Roberts and Frank's brother Pete, the goal was the first of the contest, scored at 4:30 of the second, with the Habs taking the victory on the road, 5-3.
The Bruins rubberized logo and Goal Puck Program label have both darkened somewhat, with just light wear to the puck itself.
