Concluding the 1990-91 QMJHL season with a 33-14-4 record which included a .908 save percentage, Felix Potvin was named the top defensive player in the league for his efforts. His 2.70 GAA also led the Q, and as such, the netminder was awarded the Jacques Plante Memorial Trophy. The Chicoutimi Sagueneens would post the best record in 1990-91 and would defeat Shawinigan and Laval in the postseason to advance to the President's Cup, with the Drummondville Voltigeurs swept in four games. This triumph served as Chicoutimi’s first QMJHL championship. We have 1990-91 QMJHL Chicoutimi Sagueneens “Goalie of the Year” and “Hap” Emms commemorative “Best Goalie of the Tournament” award plaques that were presented to Felix Potvin. The Goalie of the Year plaque is 11” x 15”, the Hap Emms plaque is 9” x 12”, with each matching in style with a finished and grooved wooden surface and engraved affixed plates. Each sports the engraved particulars in French including “Felix Potvin” and “Les Sagueneens de Chicoutimi”. Hailing from his personal collection, a signed LOA from Felix Potvin will accompany.
Both awards show wear from age and display beautifully, with light to moderate surface wear to the plaques including small blemishes or scratches to the engraved plates, with a small dent to the surface of the engraved plate on the Goalie of the Year plaque.
