This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
The Calder Memorial winner in 2001 as the NHL’s top rookie, netminder Evgeni Nabokov spent the majority of his career in San Jose, with later stints with the Islanders (2011-14) and Lightning (2014-15). This photo-matched mask was worn by the two-time All-Star in 2012-13. A Warwick model with intact cage, back plate and interior padding, the paint scheme was executed by Miska Designs (a label is affixed to the interior along with handwritten particulars including “Custom Made for Evgeni Nabokov”), with a dual-skull motif over the top and team logos at each side, and “Nabby” in stylized chrome letters over the chin section. The back plate also sports “20” and “Nabby”, along with four names including those of his children. Worn in the last portion of the 2012-13 season (excluding playoffs), the mask exhibits good game-use with considerable chipping over the top section, with a few additional small edge chips visible and minor soiling to the mouth guard. A Warwick storage/carry bag with “Evgeni Nabokov” embroidered will accompany the mask.
