Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016

Coming off a Stanley Cup Finals appearance with the Black Hawks in 1992, Ed Belfour enjoyed a prosperous season in 1992-93 playing in the second most games of his career where he finished the season with a 2.59 GAA and .906 save percentage, more than enough for a Williams Jennings as well as a Vezina Trophy. This Vezina Trophy was presented to Ed Belfour in 1992-93 as he was adjudged to be the best NHL goaltender that season. Standing 13” in height, a silver column with mounted twin goal sticks and laurel wreath sits on a square wooden base. A centralized miniature net sits beneath a capped dome topped by a small detailed Canadian beaver. A gold-coloured plaque adhered to the base states in full “Trophee Georges Vezina Ed Belfour Chicago Black Hawks 1992-93”.
In excellent condition, there are two very small areas of tarnish/plating loss just above the laurel wreath and to the right of the mini-net, and it should be mentioned that the upper section is currently able to swivel on its base. A sticker still affixed to the brown felt underneath from Boffey insures authenticity, as they are the official maker of NHL trophies. From Ed Belfour’s personal collection, a signed LOA from Mr. Belfour will accompany.
