Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
Following his successful playing days which included winning dual Prince of Wales and Stanley Cup trophies along with the Calder Memorial as the top rookie of 1968, Derek Sanderson took his hockey expertise to the broadcast booth, and was employed for a number of years by the New England Sports Network and WSBK-TV as a broadcaster. Hailing from his personal collection, this Emmy Award was presented to the superstar in 1994 for his “Outstanding Play-By-Play Coverage of Boston Bruins Hockey”. A wooden plaque 10” in height and 8” at the widest point, a mounted figure with raised globe sits over the left above a “National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences” engraved metal plate, with a second engraved plate affixed to the main body listing the particulars including “1994 Boston – New England Emmy Award” and “Derek Sanderson Announcer”. A signed LOA from Derek Sanderson will accompany.
There is some wear to the wooden plaque as well as the affixed plates, with scratches visible, with one wing broken off of the mounted figure.
