This incredible durene was worn by the inventor of the "Spin-O-Rama", Hall of Famer, Denis Savard. Savard posted impressive numbers over his career with a total of 473 regular season goals and a whopping 1,338 points, 121 of those coming in his third season with the Chicago Black Hawks in 1982-83. This uniform, worn that season, is a Sandow-made knit with their double tags in the neck above an additional Gunzo's label. The nameplate holding letters spelling out Savard's surname appears original but we do see evidence of a former plate. SandowSK is screened onto the outer hem in red with a red-screened Gunzo's identifier to the side and the shirt has two separate fight straps sewn inside. This example appears to have been shortened with a seam where the striping meets the body, as Denis Savard was not a large player. Great overall game wear includes loads of stick marks and scuffs, some smaller areas of blue paint transfer, board burns and a single team repair on the back. We believe this is the jersey that Savard is wearing in the team photograph from the 1982-83 season based on a mark at the lower front and distinctive characteristics at the team crest.
