Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
An interesting piece of hockey history and a far cry from the million dollar cheque he’d receive a decade later, we have a Chicago Black Hawks payroll cheque from the 1961-62 NHL season made out to Bobby Hull. At just under 3 ½” x 8 ½” and with “Chicago Black Hawks Team Inc” branding, the cheque calls for $1,564.51 to be paid to Hull, with signatures from Arthur M. Wirtz Jr. along with deceased HOFer William Wirtz. Dated Feb 28th 1962, Hull has endorsed the reverse, with cancellation stamps also present. With just a bend to the bottom right corner, both the cheque and signatures remain in wonderful condition.
