The Los Angeles Kings turned back the clock when they honored Wayne Gretzky during their 2002-03 season opener against the Great One's Phoenix Coyotes. Kings' winger Zigmund Palffy wore this fantastic vintage-style jersey produced by the team specifically for the October 9th 2002 game as Los Angeles officially retired Gretzky's No. 99. When Gretzky debuted with the Kings in the fall of 1988, the team also introduced a new black, white and silver color scheme to replace the original purple and gold. This white version of those jerseys features a "99" patch sewn onto the right breast, with a CCM label and 56 size tag affixed to the collar. A MeiGray patch numbered “A05447” sits over the inside hem, and according to their population report, the jersey is a "White Gretzky '99' Retirement Game" example.
With just a few marks over the lower front and sleeves, the jersey remains in beautiful condition. There is also a small reddish stain over the lower left sleeve.
