Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2013

While taking his talents to Southern California was enough of a change, Wayne Gretzky stuck with his tried and tested Titan TPM 2020 stick when he made his Los Angeles Kings debut in 1988-89. Wayne tallied 54 times in his Kings debut for his final 50-goal season and he claimed his ninth and last Hart Trophy behind a 168-point effort. This sensational Gretzky Titan gamer from the Great One's first season in La-la Land has "W. Gretzky" stamped on the shaft. Wayne's original Jack the Gripper foam knob remains in place and his baby-powdered black bulldog tape job is intact on the blade. The "1-002" factory pattern code is stamped low on the back of the shaft, just above the heel, with a "880812" date code stamped higher up. An unbelievable display piece, this beauty from Gretzky's Kings debut is in wonderful shape with game use showing in black marks and red goalpost paint transfer low on the shaft.
