Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/1/2011
This lot of European ice hockey championship medals and pins from the late Vladimir Dzurilla's personal collection includes Czechoslovakia's back-to-back 1976 and 1977 gold medals. Both of these IIHF European golds come with their original presentation ribbons. Also included are three European silver medals from 1965, 1966 and 1968, and a pair of European bronze medals from 1964 and 1970. Participation medals for 1966, 1976 and 1977 are included along with four tie pins and a Walter Brown medallion from the U.S. Amateur Hockey Association. Please see our website description for more information about this lot, which comes with an LOA from the Dzurilla family. Both the 1976 and 1977 IIHF European gold medals remain wonderful display pieces with only a few dark marks to note on the 1977 medal. Each medal comes with its red, blue and yellow ribbon. The 1964 European bronze medal, resulting from Czechoslovakia’s third-place finish at the Innsbruck Olympics, comes with its brown presentation box. The 1968 silver medal’s round box is missing its cover. The 1966 and 1977 participation medals include their presentation boxes, as does the Walter Brown Memorial Medallion. Tie clips include a late-1960s Canada’s National Hockey Team pin, one from the National Hockey Team of Japan, and a pair of clips, one with a skater and one with a goalie, which has Japanese characters on the reverse.
