Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
The final chapter of the famed Original Six era, the Toronto Maple Leafs serve as the last Stanley Cup victors before expansion, earning their thirteenth franchise championship after defeating a heavily-favoured and always rival Montreal Canadiens squad in a six-game final. Jim Pappin would lead the blue and white in playoff scoring, with Dave Keon taking home the Conn Smythe. We have a team-signed photo of the 1966-67 Leafs, along with a set of 30 Upper Deck 40th Anniversary ’67 Leafs hockey cards including 7 that are signed (the original Upper Deck box is also included). At 8 ½” x 11”, the full team is pictured for the traditional on-ice pose, with the players and management listed beneath. 20 have signed – mostly in matching blue ink, with the majority of the signatures bunched-up between the image and top border. Signers include HOFers Pronovost, Keon, Bower, Kelly, Mahovlich, Armstrong, Stanley and Bob Pulford, along with Baun, Shack, Ellis, Pappin and others. The signed cards include Bower (2 different), Ellis, Keon, Shack, Jeffrey and Pete Stemkowski. An LOA from KSA will accompany.
The additional signers on the team photo include Hillman, Conacher, Jeffrey, Walton, Stemkowski, Haggert (trainer) and a few others. The majority of the signatures remain bold and display well, with minor wear to the photo itself which includes a large crease. The cards display nicely with light handling wear, with the original Upper Deck box folded and showing no signs of damage.
