Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/5/2013
Longtime trainer Tommy Bell, (Toronto's Tecumseh lacrosse team, the Toronto Marlboros, Ted Oke's Toronto Millionaires and the Toronto Maple Leafs), was in his second year with the N.Y. Americans when he had this program autographed by 14 players. Big beautiful bold blue fountain pen signatures were penned by the players' pictures and profiles, with Hall-of-Famers Nelson Stewart and "Happy" Day joined by goalie Earl Robinson, Joe Jerwa, Al Murray and Johnny Gallagher on page 33, with page 35 featuring HOFer Dave Schriner, along with Art Chapman, Tommy Anderson, Lorne Carr, Eddie Wiseman and Red Beattie. Completing the booty on page 37 are the sigs of legends Hooley Smith and Ching Johnson. The positioning of the autographs could permit remarkable individual index card-size pieces. Goalie Robertson's full page picture is featured on the four-page insert from a Feb. 3, 1938 game against Detroit, with the 48-page program in VG+ condition with a marvelous cover shot.
