Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
The first Olympics in which the National Hockey League took a break, allowing national teams to include NHL players from each country, the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano witnessed the Czech Republic capture the nation's first hockey gold medal, backed by the superb goaltending of Dominik Hasek, who kept Team Canada at bay during the semi-finals. Offered here, we present this Team Canada jersey that has been signed by twenty-three (23) members of Canada's 1998 Winter Olympic squad. A Bauer made offering that features brand tagging affixed to the inner collar and Bauer logos of a couple varieties over the right breast and reverse neckline, the front and both shoulders of the jersey have been decorated with Team Canada crests that feature embroidered details. Customized over the sleeves and verso with Eric Lindros' number "88" in dual layer tackle twill numerals, "Lindros" is spelt out in single layer white twill letters across the affixed nameplate at the top of the reverse. A replica offering that has also been customized with the captain's "C" over the left breast, approximately twenty-three (23) members of Team Canada have signed over the front, around and through the front crest in black marker ink including; Wayne Gretzky, Ray Bourque, Patrick Roy, Martin Brodeur, Steve Yzerman, Eric Lindros, Curtis Joseph, Trevor Linden, Joe Sakic, Al MacInnis and others. With all the signatures displaying well and without issue, a JSA Auction LOA will accompany the piece.
