Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
One of only two defenceman to score over 100 points in multiple seasons along with Bobby Orr, Paul Coffey serves as one of the greatest blueliners in NHL history, with numerous regular-season and playoff records held by the four-time Stanley Cup champion. This important stick was used by Coffey to secure his milestone 900th career point, and it was originally gifted by the superstar to our consignor, his Sher-Wood stick rep. A Sher-Wood PMP 5030 model with “Coffey 77” graphics, the NHL striping accent is mostly intact, with the original white tape in place over the blade and black on the handle and knob. “900” has been placed across the front side blade in individual black numerals, with a “900th Point” label affixed to the lower shaft. The milestone was achieved on Jan 17, 1990 vs Philadelphia. An LOA from the former Sher-Wood stick rep will accompany.
Sporting light to moderate game-use with edges of the shaft darkened, the blade shows game wear, with a few marks and abrasions to the shaft. We should further note minor damage to the “9” of the applied “900” decals, with the first “0” showing a raised corner.
