Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
Popularizing the butterfly style of goaltending, Patrick Roy is the first goaltender in history to win 500 games while also serving as the first to see action in 1,000 contests. This signed stick was used by the superstar while with the Montreal Canadiens during the Stanley Cup championship season of 1992-93. A KOHO Evolution model with “P. Roy” boldly stamped, the stick retains the original white tape over the blade, lower paddle and upper shaft. There is also a faint date stamp on the lower shaft which appears to be "2 DEC 1992". Heavy game-use is exhibited, with numerous puck marks to the blade and lower paddle, with a small chip along the top edge of the paddle visible along with some red paint transfer. St Patrick has blessed the front side heel section with a large blue marker signature that displays well.
