Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/1/2022
A perennial All-Star in the WHA beginning in his first season in 1973-74, Pat Stapleton would conclude his noteworthy career in the rebel league, playing his last five seasons in Chicago (1973-75), Indianapolis (1975-77) and Cincinnati (1977-78), and would earn an impressive 239 WHA points throughout his tenure. Originating from his personal collection, we have the East All-Stars jersey worn by Stapleton at the 1974-75 WHA All-Star Game. A Gerry Cosby label with “L” sizing is affixed to the inside hem, with the vintage All-Star garment measuring-out to roughly a size 52. Featuring a rubberized WHA team crest, “WHA” appears over the front band, with “12” in red-over-white tackle twill on the sleeves and verso. “Stapleton” is also sewn to the upper reverse in single white twill. Worn for just a single contest, the jersey sports light game-use, and remains in beautiful condition. An LOA from the Stapleton family will accompany.
