Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
Established as a prominent member of Seattle’s grunge seen in the late-1980s, Nirvana released their landmark album Nevermind in 1991, with this second release certified Diamond by the RIAA. The band would follow up with the American and British album charts-topper In Utero two years later, with the death of Kurt Cobain in April of 1994 forever ending Nirvana. This lot contains a pair of Nirvana posters, with a large example for the best-of compilation “Nirvana” from 2002 (40” x 60”), along with a poster advertising the 1998 film Kurt and Courtney which examined Cobain’s death and Love’s involvement in it (20” x 30”). The 2002 poster is solid black, with just “Nirvana” in the group’s classic script, and “October 2002” along the base. The poster exhibits moderate wear from storage and handling, with creasing over all four corners along with a few edge tears to the top corners. The Kurt and Courtney poster pictures the DVD’s box cover, with a large image of Cobain, and just light to moderate handling wear.
